GOODYEAR (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Indians traded left hander Kelvin De La Cruz to the Texas Rangers Tuesday.
De La Cruz was designated for assignment on February 14th after the signing of first baseman Casey Kotchman earlier in the month.
The 23-year old spent the 2011 season with the Double-A Akron Aeros where he went 5-6 with a 4.19 ERA in 23 games (16 starts).
The Indians received undisclosed cash considerations in return.
De La Cruz was added to the Rangers 40-man roster following the completion of the deal.
