Cleveland (92.3 The Fan) - According to 92.3 the Fan’s Matt Loede, catcher Carlos Santana will return to the Indians lineup for the opener of the 3-game series in Detroit after missing eight games with a mild concussion. The 26-year old will bat 4th and DH against the Tigers Tuesday night after going 1-for-4 with a homerun with the Lake County Captains on rehab assignment Monday. Santana was placed on the 7-day DL after a ball was fouled off his mask during the series against the Tigers in Cleveland on May 28th.
Juan Diaz will be sent down to Triple-A Columbus to make on the active roster. Lou Marson and Luke Carlin filled in on backstop duties while Santana was recovering from the mild concussion.
