CLEVELAND (92.3 THE FAN) - Following the Miami Heat’s victory in the NBA Finals Thursday night and more than a week of threatening and at times scorching hot weather, it was only a matter of time that the two would collide. And that it did on last night’s News Channel 5 newscast when meterologist Mark Johnson couldn’t help himself by comparing game 5 to the storm cells that were moving through the region.
“Light rain downtown, no thunder. Son of a gun, we could have used some thunder,” said Johnson.
As he continued his rant on the Miami Heat, WEWS sports director and 92.3 the Fan personality Andy Baskin tried to snuff out the situation by putting his hand over Johnson’s mouth. After Baskin blew kisses to the camera and walked out of frame, Johnson continued “No more heat. It’s going to be pleasant the next few days at least weatherwise.” Watch the rant for yourself below.
