CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – The Cavs have lost a veteran, as to the surprise of no one, shooting guard Anthony Parker has decided to retire.
The 37-year-old walks away after a nine-year career in the NBA, the last three playing with the Cavaliers.
“I wanted to make that decision after the season and make sure that is what I wanted to do,” Parker said in an email. “I’m at peace with it and excited for whatever the future has for me.”
Last season Parker averaged 7.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 51 games.
Parker was a first-round draft choice by New Jersey in 1997, the 21st pick overall out of Bradley, also played with the 76ers, Magic and Raptors in his career,
In Israel he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
