CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians lost third basemen Lonnie Chisenhall in Friday night’s loss to the Orioles, as he suffered a fractured forearm after being hit by a pitch in the game.
Chisenhall was hit on his right forearm by lefty reliever Troy Patton in the 5th inning of the eventual 9-8 setback.
After undergoing X-rays, it was determined that he had suffered a fractured right ulna bone, which will keep him out of action about six weeks.
Shelley Duncan, who had a RBI double in the 7th inning of the loss, came in for Chisenhall as a pinch-runner.
Chisenhall was hitting .278 (20-for-72) with three home runs and nine RBI when he left the game, and in the last 13 games was hitting .342, 13-for-38.
