COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — Police in northeast Ohio say a man has been charged with pouring hot water onto his 1-year-old son.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that 27-year-old Dusty Gauder of Coventry Township, just south of Akron, has been arrested and charged with felony assault and endangering children. He is being held at the county jail on a $150,000 bond.
Police say emergency responders found burns on the boy Friday, and he was transported to Akron Children’s Hospital. Police say Gauder used a pan to pour hot water on his son’s back.
It is unclear if the boy is still at the hospital, or his current condition.
Court records do not list an attorney for Gauder.
