CLEVELAND (AP) — A second person in northeast Ohio has died from injuries suffered when a car drove into an outdoor street festival.
Officials at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland confirmed 44-year-old area resident Basil Bass died Tuesday. They would not disclose the extent of his injuries.
Bass had been in the hospital since the Sunday evening crash, which killed one other person and injured two more.
Cleveland police say a 34-year-old Cleveland man drove his car into the festival, which was raising money for HIV and AIDS awareness. The charges against him include aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter.
Police say they believe he was intoxicated. A toxicology report is pending.
