MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man accused of killing his on-and-off girlfriend is being extradited to North Carolina to face charges in the case.
Twenty-seven-year-old Nathan Summerfield faces a murder charge in the death of 33-year-old Lynn Jackenheimer of Ashland, Ohio. Her body was found near the Outer Banks of North Carolina in July, weeks after she disappeared while vacationing there with Summerfield and her children.
Summerfield waived his right to an extradition during a brief appearance Friday at Medina County Common Pleas Court. He is currently being driven back to North Carolina, and is expected to arrive late Friday.
Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Summerfield at a motel Wednesday in northeast Ohio, ending a monthlong nationwide manhunt.
