Coach Chynoweth was a former NHL defensemen, drafted by the New York Islanders at age 19. Dean was traded to the Boston Bruins in 1995, and spent the next three seasons there. Coach spent the last three years as an assistant coach for the team he was drafted by, the Islanders. Coach talked about the Monsters roster, which is coming off of a strong 2011-12 season, just narrowly missing the playoffs. He also talked about hockey in China, his “new teeth” and weighed in on the Browns naming Trent Richardson captain. Coach ended the interview by previewing the first game of the season against the Oklahoma City Barons, and talked briefly about the NHL lockout situation.
