CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – As the Cavaliers continue their trip out west, the team tonight will not have the services of forward/center Tyler Zeller, and the rookie could miss even more time.
The rookie sustained a nasty bruise on his left cheek with 5:39 remaining in the fourth quarter of Monday night’s game in Los Angeles versus the Clippers.
He did not return to play and X-rays taken at the Staples Center were negative. He traveled with the team to San Francisco following the game and was re-examined at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, where a CT Scan revealed a non-displaced fracture of his left cheek bone.
Zeller also experienced a concussion as a result of the injury and has been placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol process. As of now, he is out for the game tonight vs the Warriors, and the team states they are not sure how much time he will miss moving forward.
