NASHVILLE (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians have begun the 2012 MLB Winter Meetings looking to make the roster better in 2013, but what would it cost them to do that?
The team last July went into mostly a selling mode, looking to make moves on the fly to get the team better, but came up with nothing.
Now a few months removed from the season and with new manager Terry Francona, there’s plenty of rumors about what the team may do, and one involves pitcher Justin Masterson.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that the Boston Red Sox and their new skipper, John Farrell, like Masterson, but it would take a sweet deal to land him.
#RedSox like Masterson; offers thus far not to #Indians’ liking.—

It’s one of a number of rumors that will pop up with the Indians, along with SS Asdrubal Cabrera, OF Shin-Soo Choo, and pitcher Chris Perez.
It was a rough season for Masterson, but he’s still just 27, and coming off an 11-15 season, word is Francona likes Masterson, and would need a good deal to get him moved out of Cleveland.
