NASHVILLE (92.3 The Fan) - The Washington Nationals were a playoff team last season winning 98 games, and have continued trying to get better, as Tuesday they reached a deal to sign pitcher Dan Haren.
The one-year deal will be worth $13 million and will be pending a physical according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
Last season the 32-year-old went 12-13 with a 4.33 ERA with the Angels, making 30 starts. The Nats already have solid starting pitching and Haren will add to it.
The top of the rotation is Stephen Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez, followed by Jordan Zimmermann. Haren will be a solid veteran in that rotation, and the move also ends their flirtation with pitcher Zack Greinke.
