Another coaching domino has fallen in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills will reportedly name Syracuse’s Doug Marrone as their new head coach.

Marrone was a highly sought after candidate. He interviewed twice with Cleveland and was considered a fallback if the team was unable to land Oregon’s Chip Kelly. Marrone reportedly had interviews lined up with Philadelphia and San Diego. The other finalist for the Bills job was rumored to be former Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Marrone went 25-25 in four years at Syracuse and led the program to two bowl games during that span. Before his time at the ‘Cuse, Marrone spent time in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints (Offensive Coordinator) and the New York Jets (Offensive Line.)
