CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – It has not been easy for Cavaliers small forward Omri Casspi to get playing time as of late, playing just one minute since a game on December 11th.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that Casspi, the NBA’s first Israeli-born player, wants out of Cleveland and has has requested a trade.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo states that Cavs GM Chris Grant has been looking to deal Casspi, but there’s been no takers. Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal tweeted that a league source said the rumor is not true.
Wojnarowski states in his story that the request for a trade was made through Casspi’s representatives with Creative Arts Agency (CAA).
Casspi has played in 19 games for the Cavs this season, putting up 4.9 points per game. Last season in 65 games he averaged 7.1 ppg.
