Happen to miss the show this morning? If you did, well, don’t let it happen again. Here’s a taste of what was discussed.
44 - Kiley and Booms were discussing the Browns continued search for a new head coach. Kiley floated the idea that football coaches may not be keen to the idea of Joe Banner being the ultimate decision maker on football move, which could be turning these coaches off to the Browns gig. Booms suggested the best move might be for Banner to stay out of these interviews, and let Jimmy Haslam try to woo Bill Cowher.
23 - Kiley and Booms were still talking about the Browns search for a new coach, and who could be left as a strong candidate? Kiley and Booms opened up the discussion to the callers. One caller, James in Lakewood, was giving his take on the Browns, when suddenly, he had to go because he slipped on some ice and fell.
25 - On Dec. 13, ESPN’s Rob Parker made some racial comments about Robert Griffin III, and it was announced ESPN would not renew his contract. During the National Championship game Monday night, play-by-play guy Brent Musberger made some comments about Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron’s girlfriend and mother, remarking on how beautiful they were, etc. Kiley and Booms compared these two instances, and what ESPN did as a resposne for each case.
05 - The guys were still talking about the Rob Parker and Brent Musberger comments, when George Thomas from the Akron Beacon Journal called in to talk about the Rob Parker comments, and shared his experiences growing up black and how he faced similar comments and criticism in his youth.
