CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Browns coaching search continued Wednesday with a pair of interviews.
Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and former Browns and current Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski traveled to Berea to speak with team officials.
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer was first to report the Zimmer interview and Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer reported Chudzinski’s.
The Browns refuse to comment on or confirm any interviews, before or after they occur.
While in Cincinnati, Zimmers’ defenses ranked in the top 10 in 3 of the last 5 seasons – 2009, 2011, 2012 – ironically the same seasons Cincinnati earned a postseason berth. His defense has never ranked worse than No. 15.
Browns linebacker Scott Fujita endorsed Zimmer shortly after Glazer’s report.
“Mike Zimmer is a damn good football coach,” Fujita tweeted.
The Browns met with Marc Trestman, coach of the Montreal Alouettes Tuesday.
Last week in Arizona, the Browns interviewed former Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt and defensive coordinator Ray Horton. The also met with Penn State coach Bill O’Brien, former Syracuse coach and current Bills coach Doug Marrone and Oregon coach Chip Kelly.
