Man Arrested For Urn Attack During Argument
LORAIN, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) - A local man is facing multiple charges after attacking another man with an urn full of human ashes during a disagreement.
Authorities told the Lorain Morning Journal that 23-year-old Joel Perez got into an argument with the unidentified victim Friday morning, and began threatening to kill him while breaking items around the house, United Press International reported.
Police were subsequently called to the scene of the fight, at which point Officer Jesse Perkins observed Perez breaking a large blue urn over the head of the man. The blow reportedly rendered him unconscious and surrounded the pair in a cloud of human ashes.
According to the Morning Journal, responding officers shot Perez with Taser darts to calm him. Perez was subsequently placed under arrest, and is now allegedly facing charges of domestic violence, felonious assault and resisting arrest, UPI additionally learned.
Information regarding the identity of the victim – and the identity of the human remains in the broken urn – was reportedly not disclosed by Lorain police.
