CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving was named an All Star reserve for the Eastern Conference Thursday night.
92.3 The Fan’s Daryl Ruiter spoke with general manager Chris Grant about several topics concerning the team but most notably the emergence of Irving, who was selected No. 1 overall in the 2011 draft, as an elite player while just 20 years old.
Grant touched on the Cavaliers’ overall plan and vision for rebuilding the franchise and the difficulty of not winning games that has come with it.
Grant also reviewed this week’s big trade with Memphis, which he said continues to demonstrate Dan Gilbert’s investment in the team, and his desire to actively pursue other opportunities for deals leading up to the trade deadline.
