On the February 10, 2013, edition of Cleveland Connection, we dig into the 27th annual Chili Bowl Classic! The 5-K run event takes place Saturday, February 16th, in downtown Cleveland, and raises money for the Metro Burn Unit.
This year’s race course has changed. It’ll start and finish at the Galleria at Erieview on East 9th.
Runners will go around First Energy Stadium… past the Great Lakes Science Center and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame… and then back to the finish line behind the Galleria.
More than 12-hundred runners and spectators are expected downtown for the Chili Bowl Classic. Race day festivities include music, refreshments, awards, and of course, Chili!
And for the second year, runners, walkers and spectators will vote for their favorite chili… made by Cleveland firefighters… and all money raised will benefit the Metro Burn Center.
My guests talking about the Chili Bowl on Cleveland Connection are:
1. Neal Neroni – President of Hermes
2. Rich Scheft – a Cleveland Fire Fighter who took part in the Chili Cook-off last year, and will compete again this year.
The 27th Chili Bowl Classic takes place Saturday Feb. 16th in downtown Cleveland at the Galleria on East 9th. For more information, visit www.hermescleveland.com.
All mailed registration entries for the race must be received by Wednesday, February 13th. Online pre-registration closes at 9:00am on Friday, February 15th. You can register the morning of the race. And if you just want to be a spectator and enjoy the chili, you can buy a pass before the event for $5 or the day of the event for $7.
