CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – For Cavaliers fans that have been calling for the team to give former Ohio State Buckeye Greg Oden a look, you are close to getting your wish.
Reports from the Akron Beacon Journal is that the Cavs will be giving the former first overall pick of the Portland Trailblazers a two-year deal with a team option for a third.
Oden has been injured nearly all of his NBA career, and hasn’t played since the 2009-10 season with the Blazers.
He has undergone three microfracture surgeries on his knee, but has been working towards making a comeback, and reportedly has shown the Cavs enough for them to take a chance on him.
The Cavs are not the only team with interest in taking a shot on Oden, as Miami and Boston have both also expressed interest in the center.
The report says the Cavs will wait until the February 21st trade deadline passes before making their offer to Oden.
