DETROIT (AP) — Nick Minnerath scored 34 points, two short of his career high, and grabbed 12 rebounds Tuesday night, helping Detroit sweep its season series with Cleveland State with a 92-62 victory.
Minnerath, a senior, was 12 of 22 for the floor, including two 3-pointers, for the Titans (17-9, 9-4 Horizon League). Jason Calliste added 19 points, giving him 1,001 for his career, and Ray McCallum had 16 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and four steals. McCallum now is 10 points shy of 1,500 for his career.
Bryn Forbes, coming off a career-high 24-point performance in Saturday’s loss to Valparaiso, led the Vikings (12-14, 4-8) with 14 points, and Marlin Mason scored 11.
Forbes’ three-point play opened the scoring, but that was the only lead Cleveland State would have. Detroit led 42-24 at halftime and by as many as 34 in the second half in improving to 37-18 all-time against the Vikings.
