DraftCountdown.com’s Scott Wright joined Ken Silverstein early Sunday morning to preview the scouting Combine. Wright doesn’t expect the Combine to heavily effect the draft with the exception of Georgia’s Linebacker Jarvis Jones. Jones has been linked to the Browns with the sixth pick and has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Despite having elite level talent, he was was forced to transfer from USC early in his career because doctors wouldn’t clear him to play. This scouting combine could either solidify his status as a top five pick or cause him to fall down draft boards as expect.
Other players discussed with the Browns pick include pass rusher’s Damontre Moore from Texas A&M and Barkevious Mingo from LSU. Wright says regardless of when the Browns address the issue, they need someone opposite Jabaal Sheard. Other talking points include the Browns chances of trading, the quarterback draft class and the importance of not overvaluing the Combine results.
