CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – After rumors the Cavaliers had a deal basically in place to sign him, word now is that former Ohio State center Greg Oden will not sign with a team till the offseason.
Sam Amico of Fox Sports says that sources say Oden will continue to rehab and get in shape, and then decide on where he wants to sign over the summer.
Oden is looking to comeback after three microfracture knee surgeries. He hasn’t played in a game in the NBA since December of 2009 when he was with the Blazers.
It had been reported earlier in February that Oden was close to a deal with the Cavs, but now if the Cavs want him, they will have to wait till the summer.
Oden is currently taking classes at Ohio State, and his agent says he is still planning on a career in the NBA.
