CHARLOTTE (AP) — Byron Scott says he hasn’t spoken to team ownership about his future with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
His plans are to continue approaching things as if he’ll back for a fourth season.
Scott said at Cleveland’s Wednesday morning shootaround, “Yeah, I have a year on my contract, (so) unless they tell me otherwise I plan on being back.”
Cleveland plays its season finale against the Charlotte Bobcats.
Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
The Cavs have the third-worst record in the NBA at 24-57 and are 64-165 in three seasons rebuilding under Scott following the departure of LeBron James.
Scott says the season has been “frustrating” because the Cavaliers “never had a chance to see what we had as a whole with all of the injuries we had.”
