CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement, training camp holdouts for rookies are becoming a thing of the past.

The Cleveland Browns’ latest first round pick, Barkevious Mingo, expects to arrive for camp on time. Mingo, who has yet to sign, doesn’t see his contract getting done as much of an issue.

“I’m pretty sure that it’ll be done with before then,” Mingo said. “Not a big deal. [I’m] not even sweating it.”

BYU defensive end Ziggy Ansah, selected one slot ahead of Mingo at No. 5 by the Lions, signed a fully guaranteed 4-year, $18.595 million contract which included an $11.9 million signing bonus.

The Browns will officially open training camp on Friday, July 26 but rookies are scheduled to report earlier in the week.

Mingo joined the other 4 members of the 2013 draft class and undrafted rookie free agents Tuesday at the team’s youth football camp held at FirstEnergy Stadium.

“We had a blast,” Mingo said. “To be able to play football, 7 on 7, pass and catch, and show them a little tackling is a lot of fun.”
