Browns Place RB Lewis On Season-Ending IR
BEREA (92.3 The Fan) – Cleveland Browns running back Dion Lewis will not play in 2013.
Lewis was placed on season-ending injured reserve the team announced Monday.
The move coupled with 5 other roster cuts reduces the roster to 82.
Lewis underwent surgery on Aug. 19 to repair a broken left fibula sustained during the 3rd quarter of the Browns’ 24-6 preseason win over the Detroit Lions on Aug. 15.
The Browns acquired Lewis, who was supposed to provide a change of pace for Trent Richardson out of the backfield this season, on April 11 from Philadelphia for linebacker Emmanuel Acho.
