Brunswick, Ohio (CBS Cleveland) - A man arrested for drunk driving told officers he sped away so he would have time to finish his Big Mac, according to a police report published on The Smoking Gun’s website.

Brunswick Police officer Clifford Smith said he was responding to a call about a reckless driver at about 1 a.m. on Sept. 28 when he noticed a silver SUV driving erratically after leaving a McDonald’s drive-thru.

The driver refused to pull over after officer Smith initiated a traffic stop.

Smith chased the vehicle for several blocks until the driver stopped.

The officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol on the driver’s breath, it says in the report.

The man told police he knew he was too drunk and wanted to finish his Big Mac before being pulled over.

The statement says the driver’s blood alcohol content measured more than three times the legal limit.

Randall Miller, 31, was arrested on several counts, including drunk driving and fleeing an officer.
