Cleveland, OH – (92.3 The Fan) – Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Reggie Rucker was sentenced to 21 months in prison this morning. Rucker was sentenced after embezzling money from a number of non-profit organizations, including the Cleveland Peacemakers Alliance.
Federal prosecutors claimed that Rucker used bank accounts from those agencies to pay off gambling debts, his mortgage and other personal expenses. Rucker has also been ordered to pay back $110,841.37.
Rucker spent seven season with the Browns from 1975 through 1981 and collected 310 career receptions with Cleveland and that included 32 touchdowns.
Rucker will be allowed to remain free until the Federal Bureau of Prisons gives him a report date.
