CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Indians placed right-handed pitcher Josh Tomlin on the Family Medical Emergency List, the club announced prior to Wednesday’s matchup against the Chicago White Sox at Progressive Field.
Tomlin has returned to his home in Tyler, Texas to deal with a family matter. He is permitted to remain on the list for 3-5 days.
No other details were shared by the Indians.
The 31-year-old starting pitcher is 11-6 with a 4.14 ERA in 22 starts this season for the Tribe.
Cleveland will play with 24 players on Wednesday night.
As anticipated, right-handed pitcher Danny Salazar will be activated from the 15-day disabled list to start Thursday’s game. Salazar will assume Tomlin’s spot on the 25-man roster.
