With the coming season chalked full of unknowns, Browns Quarterback Robert Griffin III and Receiver Terrelle Pryor continue to tease magic in the vertical game this preseason.
In the 1st quarter of the Browns-Falcons preseason game, RG3 & Pryor hooked up for a 50-yard touchdown pass to pull the game even at 7’s. This is the first touchdown for Grffin in Cleveland.
The icing on the cake for this week’s touchdown pass is that Pryor roasted Falcons Pro Bowl Corner Desmond Trufant. Just in his second year as a wide out, the career quarterback Pryor had several yards separation on the reception.
The play marks the second straight week the two have connected long distance but the first that culminated in the end zone. Last week against Green Bay, Griffin and Pryor connected on a 49-yard pass on the team’s first offensive snap of the preseason.
That was the extent of the magic in the Green Bay game from the duo as RG3 threw an interception to end the drive. He was finished with 4/8 for 67 yards passing and the 1 interception in that game.
In a season where silver linings might have to do, the RG3-TP connection might be gold for the Brown and Orange.
