According to the Cavaliers Team Shop, via Twitter, new Cavaliers players Mike Dunleavy, Chris Andersen, and rookie Kay Felder have been given their jersey numbers.
Dunleavy, who was acquired earlier in the off-season, wears #3. That number was last worn by Kendrick Perkins. But the last guy to wear it was another shooter who Cavs fans remember well – Dion Waiters.
Dunleavy switches from #34, which he wore last season in Chicago.
Meanwhile, ‘Birdman’ sports #00. Only FOUR players in the entire NBA sported that number last season. Denver’s Darrell Arthur, Sacramento’s Willie Cauley-Stein, Orlando’s Aaron Gordon, and Charlotte’s Spencer Hawes. Andersen wore #11 while he was teammates with LeBron James in Miami, but most recently wore #7 with Memphis last season.
Finally, Felder goes with #20, which he wore in college at Oakland. The last Cavs player to wear #20 was my friend and yours, Timofey Mozgov.
The Cavs season is only two months away!
