Mo Williams Announces Return To Cavaliers For 2016-17 Season

Apparently a shot at back-to-back championships was too difficult to pass up for Mo Williams.

The Cavaliers backup point guard announced Wednesday evening on Twitter that he would not retire and would play one more year for the defending champs.

Williams had considered retirement despite exercising a $2.2 million player option for the 2016-17 season.

The Alabama product averaged 8.2 points and 2.4 assists in 18.2 minutes over 41 games for the Cavaliers last season.

He played 186 games in Cleveland from 2008 to 2011 before re-signing with the team last off-season.
