CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Hours after home game tickets for the American League Division Series went on sale to the public Monday morning, the Cleveland Indians announced the first two games of the opening round series at Progressive Field were officially sold out.
Tickets for a potential third game at home in the ALDS are still available.
The Indians are preparing to open a four-game series in Detroit against the Tigers on Monday. Cleveland is just one win away from clinching their first American League Central Division title and ALDS spot since 2007.
As it stands now, the Indians, who currently own the AL’s third-best record, would open the best-of-five ALDS on the road for Games 1 and 2. The Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox are currently tied for the American League’s top spot, with Cleveland trailing both by 1.5 games.
If the Indians cannot claim one of the top two spots in the final week of the regular season, they would be only be guaranteed one home playoff game.
