INDEPENDENDENCE, OHIO (92.3 The Fan) – Kevin Love is back on the practice court for training camp a few pounds lighter.
Love, who last year was coming off shoulder surgery, spent the offseason with trainers who followed him around from the midwest to the west coast.
“He looks stronger when he is posting up and when he is rebounding the basketball,” said Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue.
“He is in great shape.”
Love noted that he lost over ten pounds this offseason.
Where Is J.R. Smith?
Another day goes by without shooting guard J.R. Smith being in camp. Smith and the Cavs are currently in a stalemate when comes to a new contract.
Head coach Tyronn Lue is not worried about Smith missing time.
“When you have been in the system for two years you don’t fall behind.”
LeBron James is hoping that a deal gets done and that it gets done soon. James was pressed about his influence on the on going situation stating, “I haven’t been apart of any negotiations.”
“Contract negotiations are always two sided, but J.R. did his part last season.”
James added, “it wouldn’t be good if he wasn’t here.”
Smith is currently a free agent.
