CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis will not be at the 2017 edition of TribeFest later this month, but the two-time All-Star infielder has an excuse.
And we guess we’ll let it slide. Just this once.
Any pain and disappointment Indians fans may feel about Kipnis missing the annual event will certainly be eased by the expected appearance of slugger Edwin Encarnacion. During last week’s introductory press conference for the Tribe’s big free-agent signing, Encarnacion said he plans to be present at TribeFest.
Other Indians scheduled to appear include: Francisco Lindor, Corey Kluber, Cody Allen, Carlos Carrasco, Andrew Miller, Jose Ramirez, Josh Tomlin, Roberto Perez, Zach McAllister, Abraham Almonte, Brandon Guyer, Yan Gomes, Mike Clevinger, Dan Otero, Tyler Naquin, Carlos Santana, Trevor Bauer, Terry Francona and Sandy Alomar.
The event will take place on Jan. 28 at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Cleveland Clinic campus.
