According to multiple reports, one-time Cleveland Indians’ slugger Mike Napoli has come to an agreement with the Texas Rangers on a one-year deal.
MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan was the first to report the deal on Twitter.
The club has not confirmed the deal.
The 35-year old Napoli hit .239 with 34 HRs and 101 RBIs in 2016 for the American League Champion Cleveland Indians.
Napoli was also with the Rangers in 2011, 2012, and for the stretch run in 2015. He advanced to the World Series with Texas in 2011, and was named an All-Star starter at catcher in 2012 with the club.
Reports indicate Napoli will be playing first base and continue to DH with the Rangers this time around.
