The Cleveland Indians moved to 2-0-1 in Spring Training with a 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers split squad at Goodyear on Monday.
The Tribe did their damage in the fifth inning, on a game-tying RBI single from Francisco Lindor before the shortstop scored the go-ahead run on a double from Chris Colabello.
Righty Carlos Carrasco made his return to the hill, tossing two innings, allowing two earned on three hits, including a 2-run home run from Nomar Mazara in the first. Zach McAllister, Adam Plutko and Chris Narveson each tossed two scoreless innings. Dan Otero went one scoreless to earn the win.
The Indians take on the Oakland A’s on the road at 3:05 PM on Tuesday. Right-hander Mike Clevinger will make his first start of spring for the Tribe, while righty Jharel Cotton will go for Oakland.
