Sam Amico of Amico Hoops and Fox Sports Ohio reports the Cavaliers are nearing a deal with free agent center Larry Sanders.
The Cavaliers would have to release Andrew Bogut, who played just 58 seconds for the Cavaliers on Monday before suffering a broken tibia that will sideline him for the season.
Sanders last played in the NBA for Milwaukee in December of 2014 before leaving the sport for personal reasons.
The VCU product was suspended twice for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, and vouched for marijuana’s medicinal usage.
Sanders was also sidelined for 25 games in sustaining a torn ligament in his thumb in a night club altercation.
The 28-year old averaged 6.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks over 19.8 minutes per game in 5 NBA seasons.
