Salazar Looks Strong, Indians Rally To Defeat Royals 7-6

Danny Salazar had his best start of the spring as the Indians rallied from a 4-0 hole to top the Kansas City Royals 7-6.

Salazar went four strong innings for the Tribe without allowing a run on two hits, a walk and six strikeouts.

All seven Indians runs came in the seventh with the help of two long balls. Richie Shaffer parked a two-run shot over the fence while top catching prospect Francisco Mejia smacked a grand slam in the inning as well. Tyler Naquin continued to be solid at the plate with two more hits on the afternoon including a double, raising his average this spring to .556.

Indians prospect Mark Mathias suffered a dislocated left shoulder in the ninth.

The Tribe will continue to gear up for Opening Day on Sunday when they take on the San Diego Padres. Corey Kluber will make his second start of the spring for the Indians squaring off against Jared Weaver of the Padres. First pitched is scheduled for 4:10 PM EST in Peoria, Arizona.
