Michael Brantley has been removed from the Indians’ Sunday finale with the Kansas City Royals. Sportstime Ohio’s Andre Knott reported from the clubhouse that Brantley’s injury did not have to do with his shoulder, which has limited him the past two seasons, rather a right ankle sprain.

Lonnie Chisenhall replaced Brantley, taking over in right field, while Brandon Guyer moved to left.

“It’s not the dreaded high-ankle sprain. He hit the base hard,” Manager Terry Francona said. “Hopefully it’s a day or two, that’s what they think now. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll know a heck of a lot more.”
