Trout Out For An Extended Time With Torn Ligament In Thumb

ANAHEIM, Calif. — According to reports, Los Angeles Angels center-fielder Mike Trout suffered a torn UCL ligament in his thumb while sliding into second base against the Miami Marlins Sunday night.

The injury could keep the two-time AL MVP out of the Angels’ lineup for five to eight weeks.

Prior to the injury, Trout was batting .337 with 16 home runs, 36 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
