Former Notre Dame Head Coach Ara Parseghian Dies

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Ara Parseghian, who won two national championships in 11 seasons as Notre Dame coach, has died at 94.

The native of Akron, Ohio coached the Fightin’ Irish from 1964 through 1974 and won the national championship for the first time in 1966. The second title for Parseghian came in 1973.
