1 Center Court
Cleveland, OH 44115
Known locally as “The Q,” Quicken Loans Arena is named for the finance company owned by Dan Gilbert, who also owns the Cleveland Cavaliers. In addition to hosting Cavs games, the 20,500-seat arena is home to the Lake Erie Monsters (American Hockey League), arena-football team the Gladiators, MAC basketball games, and NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.
Among the other 200 events held each year at The Q are concerts, ice-skating and other touring shows, and various performances. A Billy Joel concert was the first event held at The Q when it opened in 1994.
No video recording devices are allowed at any events. Cameras are allowed at Cavs games; other events may or may not allow cameras. Call before attending to check.
Quicken Loans Arena is easy to find, as it sits on Ontario Street, one of the main Cleveland streets that converge at the city’s center at Terminal Tower/Tower City. From I-90, take the Ontario Street exit directly to The Q. Ample surface lots and parking garages are available.
The Q’s design is typical of an arena/coliseum, with rows of seats rising around a center performance area. During concerts and theatrical performances, the stage is either in the center of the performance area or at the arena’s south end. Seat sections are divided into Floor, Lower Level and Upper Level, with prices falling and views diminishing as you go up, although more than 500 monitors provide close-ups of the action from all over the arena.
You can purchase tickets online, by calling The Q or at the box office, which is at the corner of Huron Road and East 6th Street at the Arcade Entrance. Hours vary, so call The Q before heading to the box office.
Food and Lodging
Food services at Quicken Loans Arena include: Quaker Steak and Lube, Section 13; B-spot, near the Cavs team shop; and Bar Symon, Level 4. Aramark Food Services runs 14 different food stands that sell pizza and sandwiches. Just For You, a nut- and gluten-free vegetarian stand, is near Section 123.
If you are staying overnight and you want to be near The Q, check out the Radisson Hotel Cleveland-Gateway, which is directly across from the arena and offers special rates by calling (216) 377-9000. Get information on other area hotels at Positively Cleveland.
Assistance For Impaired
The Q has designated seating for people with physical disabilities and can provide devices for those with hearing impairments. Restaurants can provide menus in Braille.
