Adam “The Bull”
Adam “The Bull” Gerstenhaber has been talking sports on the radio since he was a senior at Sheepshead Bay High School in Brooklyn, NY. His radio career began when he did play by play for a football game that aired on a local college radio station.
In the spring of 1999 The Bull earned his first paid gig as the play-by-play voice of the Batavia Muckdogs of the New York Penn League. During his three summers in Batavia Adam was able to watch as Marlon Byrd, Ryan Madson, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard cut their teeth with the Muckdogs. He graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2000, where he majored in Communications on the broadcasting track.
From 2002-2007 The Bull hosted sports talk shows for several stations in Utica, NY. During his time in central New York, Adam also called football, basketball and hockey games for Utica College and the now defunct UHL team the Mohawk Valley Prowlers. He also did the play-by-play for three Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Games.
In 2007 The Bull returned to NYC to work for Sports Radio 66-WFAN. When he started at WFAN Adam split his time as a host and update anchor for the station. Over the next three years, The Bull was one of the most versatile sports announcers for WFAN in all dayparts.
Adam “The Bull” now begins a new chapter as the afternoon drive host on the new Sports Radio 92.3 The Fan. Within a week of being in town Adam knew that Cleveland had the kind of fans that could match his passion for sports. He is excited to be able to talk sports five days a week with the people of Northeast Ohio.
A native New Yorker, Adam was born and raised in Brooklyn. He is a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Bengals. The Bull tied the knot in October 2010. He and his beautiful wife Elizabeth reside in Lakewood, OH. In addition to sports, Adam enjoys reading the novels of Lee Child, Michael Connelly and many other mystery and thriller authors, going to the movies, hanging out with his bride, and a great slice of pizza.
I am a big time statistics guy. I love baseball stats, football stats, basketball stats….I think you get the picture. Well, I decided to take my love of stats and use it to talk about the show.
In just 17 days the Indians will take on the Blue Jays at Progressive Field to start the 2012 baseball season. The way the weather has been lately it feels like it should have started already.
OK… so it is snowing today because of me (I just said yesterday on the show that I am shocked about how little snow there has been in January). Wow, who knew I had so much power?
It’s December, and in many cities around our great country people are talking about their football team going to the playoffs. Here in Cleveland it’s a different story.
I can describe the Browns in three simple words…
WOW, we waited two weeks for that? For the fifth game in a row the Browns played the first quarter like they were still eating bagels and drinking coffee in their kitchen.
My random thoughts about whatever pops into my head!
After one show in Cleveland it was off to the TV studio… who expected that? Check out the video
In all sincerity, where has Cleveland been all my life? People are friendly, the food is good, you barely have to go far from home to find the things you need, and the sports fans are abundant.
