SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The streets of San Francisco were quiet early Sunday, but officials have been bracing for possible trouble as fans gather in hotspots across the city to watch their 49ers take on the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl.

In the hopes of avoiding the violence that has marred recent victory celebrations in San Francisco, police say they’ll have more than 400 officers on duty, triple the usual number of officers working on a Sunday.

The extra police and additional preparations by officials follow trouble after two recent victory celebrations got out of hand.

After the 49ers won the NFC Championship Game two weeks ago about a dozen people were arrested — mostly for public intoxication.

There were also problems after the San Francisco Giants won the World Series in late October, with about three-dozen people being arrested.
