CLEVELAND – The Ohio State Buckeyes have moved up in the latest polls. The Buckeyes, now ranked No. 2 in both the AP Top 25 poll and the coaches poll released Sunday, hold a slim edge over No. 3 Auburn.
Ohio State received zero first-place votes in the AP poll. The Bucks took four in the coaches poll.
Auburn moved up one spot after upsetting Alabama, 34-28, on Saturday.
Both teams trail the new No. 1 team Florida State, who routed Florida Saturday, 37-3.
Last week, Ohio State had an 81-point lead on Auburn in the 60-voter AP poll, 1,375 to 1,294. The lead is now just 31.
Ohio State will have another shot to strengthen their resume next Saturday in the Big Ten Championship against Michigan State, who is ranked No. 10 in the AP poll.
Auburn plays Missouri on Saturday afternoon in the SEC title game. And 11-1 Missouri is ranked No. 5 in the AP poll.
