COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — Grammy Award winner and longtime baseball fan Paul Simon is joining the lineup for the Hall of Fame’s 75th anniversary celebration.

Simon will perform three songs at a concert Aug. 2 on the grounds of the Clark Sports Center that will celebrate baseball through music, film and video.

The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will serve as the “house band” for the evening, and former New York Yankees star Bernie Williams also will perform on the guitar.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum opened its doors for the first time on June 12, 1939.

The concert will take place six days after the Hall of Fame inductions of Frank Thomas, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, and retired managers Joe Torre, Bobby Cox and Tony La Russa.
