A report late Tuesday night from ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported the Los Angeles Lakers have spoken with Kevin Love’s representatives and will meet with Love this week.

Love averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in 2014-2015 with the Cavaliers.
It’s possible that Love is simply doing his due diligence and making sure he’s not missing out. But, the Lakers can’t offer as much money as Cleveland can, and given the Cavs’ Finals appearance, most still expect Love to sign back in Cleveland.
Love became an unrestricted free agent this past week after his first season with the Cavs.
The NBA free agency period starts Wednesday, July 1st at 12:00 AM EST. Teams are able to make contact with free agents on the 1st, but are not allowed to officially sign a player for another week.
