CLEVELAND (92.3 The fan) – The Cleveland Cavaliers will open the 2015-16 NBA season at Chicago on Oct. 27 and travel to Golden State on Christmas in an NBA Finals rematch.

The contest against the Bulls will be TNT’s first of the season at 8 p.m. and also be the first of 34 national TV appearances on ESPN, TNT, ABC or NBA TV for the defending Eastern Conference champions, who will travel to Memphis on Oct. 28 before the home opener against Miami on Oct. 30.

Meanwhile the defending NBA champion Warriors’ only trip to Cleveland will be Jan. 18 – Martin Luther King Day.

ABC will debut Saturday night games this season and the Cavs will play host the first 2 – against the Bulls on Jan. 23 and the San Antonio Spurs on the 30th – with tip off scheduled for 8:30 p.m. for both.

The Cavs will play 19 back-to-backs and take west coast trips in December and March.

Cleveland will play 4 games in 5 nights just once this coming season. NBA commissioner Adam Silver promised a reduction in that area following requests from several teams, including the Cavs. After seeing teams play 4 in 5 nights on 70 occasions last year, there will be just 27 this season.
