CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – For the second time in his NBA career, David Blatt is the Eastern Conference’s Coach of the Month.

Blatt, who also earned the honor in March of 2015, became the fourth coach in team history to be named the Coach of the Month on multiple occasions.

Cleveland went 13-4 in the first month of the NBA campaign — the top record in the East — averaging 103.1 points and allowing 96.5 points in the team’s first 17 games.

The Cavs also ripped off nine straight wins at home, remaining undefeated at Quicken Loans Arena this season entering Tuesday’s game against the Washington Wizards.

Overall, Cavs coaches have received the honor 13 times. Mike Brown (five), Lenny Wilkins (three), and Mike Fratello (two) have also won the award multiple times for Cleveland.

Golden State’s Luke Walton earned the honor in the Western Conference.
